Wedding Entourage

GROOM

Fozzil Jaffar, better known as 'Fozz' to most people, or 'Slo' to his Polytechnic friends in Singapore, or 'Ogil' to his family, is your typical Singaporean dude who's a football fanatic and worships the Everton Football Club. Now based in Perth, he is a Regional Manager by day, football legend and singing sensation by night (or so he'd like to think). While the 'football legend' bit remains a dream for him, Fozz does actually sing in a cover band in Perth as a hobby, as he loves entertaining people and expressing himself on stage.

Unlike most of his friends who went to uni first before embarking on their working life, Fozz chose the opposite path, where he joined the family business right after 'doing time' in the national service in the police force for 2 and a half years.  He worked for his family in the transport business, then spent a year in the time-share business before moving to Malaysia for a year to run a cafe. He also spent time in the entertainment industry, performing gigs in Kuala Lumpur and organising corporate events both in Malaysia and Singapore. Many of his friends may not know this, but he was once part of a dance crew that specialised in artiste's impersonation. One of his good friends, the late Mahendran (R.I.P.), was Singapore's undisputed Michael Jackson impersonator, and was even recognised by The King of Pop's spokesperson once, as the best MJ impersonator in the world. And Fozz was part of his crew. Yes, Fozz was actually a dancer!!!

After some soul-searching in early 2002, he decided to move on and do something he had been wanting to do but did not have the chance earlier - to get a degree! So off he went to Perth in July 2002, where he did his Bachelor degree in Business and then a Master degree in Management Information System. Like many others, he became attached to the city, and eventually got his Permanent Resident visa to remain in Australia and call it home.

It was in 2004, during one of the student group activities at uni, where he met the love of his life, Nadhirah. The rest, as they say, is history....

BRIDE

Nadhirah Jalani a ditsy, klutzy girl with big dreams, often wonders why she's an auditor/accountant. Most definitely the worst fit profession for her. Just ask any of the girls from Main Convent she grew up with. She is in deep thoughts about a career change but this wedding 'kinda got in the way'. But fear not, she will be back on track in 2011!

Growing up in a small city like Ipoh, with mixed Arab+Malay parentage, it's no wonder why she had an identity crisis through her adolescence, but she scraped through and is now based in Perth after she had completed her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Western Australia. Despite despising accounting, she managed to get herself a grad dip and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (Yes... by Australian rules she can actually 'sign stuff').

She loves books books books and dreams about travelling to exotic locations all across the globe. Her promise to herself when she started earning her own money was to visit a new place each year and so far she's been keeping to her word!  At the top of her list are places that are strikingly unusual or filled with history or sceneries that would just leave her breathless and where ever she goes, she most definitely will sample the delectable food on offer. She loves catching up with friends, the colour yellow, chatting, music and dancing, CHOCOLATES, cycling (or she pretends to cycle whilst everyone else on the bike path overtakes her), food food food, pretending to like the pain she gets from gymming and oh did I already mention food?

WEDDING PARTY

Maid of Honour/(Pengapit)

Siti Nadiah Jalani, the bride's chatty sister will be the bride's secret weapon to ward of the evil and all bridal meltdown moments! She will be there to tame the growing 'bridezilla monster' as the big day approaches and will have her first exposure as a wedding coordinator as that is what she dreams to be!

Bridesmaids

Marieta Abdull Hamid, has been the bride's partner in crime in several activities in school. It can be safely said that they both equally influenced each other to get up to no good. Always late to school, they got in mischief together and crawled out of trouble together! And although its been years since high school, they still keep in touch and go for an annual holidays together.

Poo Chooi Chee (Jane), had to endure sitting next to the bride for the last two years in high school. Accustomed to the bride's shenanigans, nothing the bride does really surprises her anymore! She was the saviour for many awkward 'homework' situations, where the bride 'forgot' or rather didn't do her homework, as well as when the bride played truant! Chee is always the first person the bride will call (after family of course) when she's back in Malaysia.

Bestman

Nicholas Tan, better knows as 'Nic', or a.k.a. 'Da Nigga', the groom has known Nic for the longest time ever since 2002. A great friend, the groom first met Nic when Fozz was a 'freshman' at Edith Cowan University. Nic was probably the most active student anyone can ever remember, to the point that he even has an Honour Board at uni named after him! (the groom was fortunate enough to be inducted on Nic's honour board a year later). He's one of Fozz closest buddies and they've been through lots of crazy and serious times together. He's stuck by the groom through highs and lows, always there to give a helping hand and will be there for you no matter what. Smart, adventurous, funny, resourceful, he is also a Liverpool fan (boo!!). Oh, he is currently single and available! So girls, keep an eye out on this fella. Definitely a good catch!!

Groomsmen

The only family member in the groom's entourage, Mohamed Fahmy is probably Fozzil's closest male cousin, and the cousin he can relate to best, due to the fact that they both support the same football team ie. EVERTON (heheh..)!! This tough, macho senior cop is ready to provide the 'shield' throughout the wedding for the groom. Plus, he is single and definitely available (ladies, take note...)

Some call him 'Shake', while others know him as Hafiz. But Sheikh Hafiz Bamasri is definitely one of Fozzil's closest budies in Perth. Another reliable 'kaki' who is always up for anything, this fishing fanatic is one of the people any friends can rely on when in need. Just like Nic and Fahmy, Hafiz is not married yet, but recently, he just got engaged (YAY!), and will be getting married on the eve of the bride and groom's Singapore reception (sorry girls..). So its a double celebration for all of us!!
